Creative Writing

Whether you’re an experienced writer looking for some time and space to write, or an aspiring writer looking for guidance, a creative writing holiday is for you. In the wonderful surroundings of Gartmore House, the beautiful space in which we’ll be writing together, as well as cozy writing nooks, you won’t fail to be inspired.
With nearly twenty years of supporting writers, our tutor Laura specialises in facilitating relaxed, fun and engaging workshops for writers from all backgrounds and experiences.

You’ll learn about different aspects of writing and will have the opportunity to share your work and receive feedback. Each day you’ll have time to write independently at your own leisure, with Laura on hand to answer any questions and help you focus.

We will cover a number of topics over each week. Laura will tailor these to suit your experience and interests. You are very welcome to bring your own project as the focus of your writing for the week, or come ready to spark off completely new ideas.

Our writing holidays will boost your confidence and support you in finding the best way to establish a regular writing practice. You’ll learn how to defeat procrastination and through lively, light-hearted writing sessions, you’ll find yourself achieving more than you ever expected you could!

You’ll have the opportunity to receive one-to-one coaching with Laura while you’re here and will receive signed copies of Laura’s books Wellspring and Magpie Mind: Live an Inspired Life.
