Home » Activity Holidays » Painting & Drawing From Nature 2023 Painting and Drawing from Nature Suitable for all, the focus of this course is the natural world, with time spent discovering the joys of being creative outdoors in this beautiful location. You will develop skills in drawing and painting with watercolour and different mediums, use materials such as charcoal and graphite sticks, while developing a sketchbook. Taking account of the weather, you will be involved in short walks in the nearby countryside initially following the tracks, then venturing into the woods choosing viewpoints for composition, looking at tonal range and aerial perspective in both monochrome and colour. We will be using the general landscape, and also gathering interesting natural materials – feathers, bark and plants etc., – for setting up still lifes indoors.
