Drone Flying & Photography

This is a course for those who thought that the first qualification to be drone photographer was that they could fly a drone! Why run before you can walk??! Thomas will take you through some of the building blocks behind great drone photography by starting from the bottom and rising the standards of your aerial imagery. He may even teach you a bit about drone mapping too.

Tutor Thomas Haywood

Thomas Haywood is a photographer with over ten years’ experience, a qualified drone pilot and CAA-approved aerial photographer. He is particularly passionate about the new benefits drone photography offers.

Thomas will also produce accurate images of development sites (pre-, post- and during build) for building inspections and land surveys. This includes stunning marketing photos
for property sale or for hotels and guesthouses since drone photography offers the ability to capture images from otherwise unreachable vantage points.

Thomas has had the pleasure of photographing historic sites, commercial buildings and much more, including the recently completed Queensferry Crossing near Edinburgh. Most recently, he photographed Josh Quigley’s world record breaking cycle around the North Coast 500.

  • “Thomas was amazing, he kept clicking till he got THE shot that satisfied the client and his professional eye.” – Gail Scott
  • “Thomas is a very talented photographer producing beautiful artistic images. We have a fantastic photo of the Duke of Wellington he took on the wall of the Collabor8te workspace and it is often commented on. If you need photography you should really consider getting Thomas to do it for you!” – Teresa Jackson
  • “Thomas’s creativity and artistic mastery of light enrich his photographic portfolio. His annual calendar capturing the splendor and intricacy of nature is just one example of his talent. Upon its annual arrival, my wife grabs it for display in our home.” – Roger Van Scoy

Please note: The above reviews come from work done by the tutor out with Gartmore House.
