Crafting at Christmas

Calling all creative crafters and budding art enthusiasts. We have your next Christmas all wrapped up for you. What better way to spend the Yuletide holidays than with fellow crafters?

We are offering a wonderful and unique festive package; something completely different to the norm. Bring your paint brushes, knitting needles, sewing machine or whatever tickles your fancy and stay with us for Christmas 2020 or 2021.  Work on your own projects at your leisure whilst mingling with the fellow guests.

All meals included when you stay at historic Gartmore House for 6 nights.  Enjoy comfortable en suite bedrooms, once home to Robert Cunninghame Graham and then latter Sir Charles Cayzer.  This grand old country house oozes a relaxed quaint charm with period featured dating from 1793.

Gartmore House is well loved for its ‘home from home’ ambience, so when sitting with your favourite tipple in front of a roaring log fire in the lounge, perhaps with a  jigsaw or your sewing to hand, we would be miffed if we did not see your slippers on your feet! The House has the most amazing calming and relaxing atmosphere, with a number of beautiful workshop rooms where you can mix with the other house guests – chattering away, enjoying your art and craft at your own leisure.

Arrive on 23rd December, with the option of making use of our complimentary pick up service from Stirling train station. You will have time to settle into your en-suite room, enjoy at little bit of afternoon tea, or take a walk around the grounds to stretch your legs before meeting your fellow guests in the lounge just before dinner.

For the next 6 nights you have the run of the House to use as your crafts and arts workshop. You never know, one of your fellow guests may have brought with them a similar craft  – so you can happily share knowledge, hints and tips.

When your creative juices are running low or you’ve done enough exploring around the House and grounds, we do have some Christmas festivities for you to enjoy throughout your stay if you fancy, all optional of course. From a Christmas Eve church service, to a Christmas pantomime, as well as a bit of musical evening entertainment.  Then maybe food for thought, to try your hand at a new craft or art; we will have demos from some of our in-house tutors or local artists.

And of course, a Christmas break would not be Christmas without the aroma of glorious mulled wine and most importantly a delicious traditional Christmas lunch. There are numerous walks around the grounds to work off that Christmas pudding, with some stunning views for the all-important Christmas snaps.

So if you are interested in spending a unique break created for crafters, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
