Day Trips

If you’re accompanying someone on one of our Art, Craft, or Activity Holidays and wondering what there is for you to do, you’re in luck! We’ve curated a week’s worth of day trips and adventures so that you can discover some of Scotland’s best kept secrets while staying at Gartmore House.

Landscapes, lochs, and majestic myths, you don’t have to go far to uncover Scotland’s delights. Even around Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, you’ll be greeted by craggy mountains, dense green forests, and glimmering lochs—exactly the kind of scenery you’d expect to find in a fairy tale. And that’s just on our doorstep!

Adventure out just a little bit further and Scotland’s history starts coming to the fore. Here, ancient castles sit high up on rocky outcrops, manor homes are finding new leases of life, and historic battlegrounds are close at hand.
