Felting Courses with Ewa Kuniczak

Our popular felting courses are run by the hugely enthusiastic and creative tutor Ewa Kuniczak (co-founder of the International Feltmakers Association). With over 40 years of experience in creative texiles and practising as an artist and teacher, Ewa (pronounced ‘Eva’) thrives on using her skills to help others achieve their potential. Ewa excels at instilling confidence in her students, so that they are able to develop their ideas and master the technical skills involved in felting.

Ewa’s over-arching experience in the principles of Art and Design and flexible approach ensure that her courses include a wide range of textile disciplines. You’ll come away from one of her felting breaks with beautiful creative pieces and the skills to continue felting at home.

Many of her students have heard of Ewa from other felters, or are returning to enjoy further courses.

‘I cannot express how much my husband and I enjoyed being at Gartmore, your staff could not have made us feel more welcome and I loved being taught by Ewa who is a remarkable tutor. Ewa has a wealth of experience and is most generous with her skills/knowledge. The red piece of Nuno felt I made was transformed into a shawl/cowl and the large grey/white/black and red piece I turned into a reversible top/tunic. I will certainly be coming back to Gartmore either in May or September next year to attend another 5 day workshop’.
Lorraine & Steve, Felting Course, August 2018

‘Exceptional value for money. You made us feel welcome from booking to departure. Nothing ever appeared too much trouble and that level of service is something to be exceptionally proud of. We will return next year to enjoy the house and crafting courses. With heartfelt thanks.’

‘A lovely old house brought back to life, well done.’

‘Lovely atmosphere for learning and relaxation. Afternoon tea ‘treats’ much appreciated.’

‘With regard to the accommodation, this was more than comfortable, the food delicious and plentiful and all the staff warm, friendly and helpful.’
