Hobbying at Hogmanay
Would you like to do something a little bit different for Hogmanay?
If you enjoy a craft or art, we invite you to spend the most relaxing 5 nights with us, making use of our wonderful craft and art rooms at your leisure. You’ll stay in our 18th century quaint and quirky home, with beautiful period features, comfortable en-suite accommodation and delicious home-made food.
Come along to Gartmore House and bring your hobby with you – whether that’s your paint brushes, knitting needles, sewing machine or even walking boots.
You will be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the house and grounds and in your own time, working on your own art or craft project at your leisure, whilst making new friends with fellow crafters and amateur artists.
Over the course of your stay, we will organise an optional visit to local historic attractions, giving you the chance to take in the mountains, lochs and glens of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, as well as fascinating historic sights. And if it’s too much of a struggle to tear yourself away from the roaring, open fire in the lounge, that’s absolutely fine – just relax and enjoy the stunning views over to Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument or dabble away at a crossword or jigsaw puzzle.
And on the evening of the 31st December, marking the close of a busy year for most and looking forward to the year ahead, we have a couple of options for you. Perhaps you’d prefer a quiet, cosy night with a special Hogmanay meal before retiring by the fire – or maybe you’re looking for a livelier way to see in the New Year, in which case you can choose to attend our local ceilidh in the village of Gartmore, bringing in the bells with a traditional village feel.
We want to take the stress out of travel, especially over the festive period, so to make your journey go smoothly we offer a complimentary scheduled pick up and drop off service from Stirling train station, which has excellent rail links with Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Our holidays are suited to individuals and couples alike, so for a low key, get-away-from-it-all New Year you need look no further!
