Cycling

Aberfoyle Bike Hire
Get ready to explore the forest trails of the Trossachs! Located just 2 miles from Gartmore House, Aberfoyle Bike Hire offers a range of bikes for day and week-long hire. Treat yourself to artisan coffee and delicious cakes from the shop café after a day adventuring.

Katrine Wheels
Depart from Trossachs Pier and explore the shores of Loch Katrine, one of Scotland’s hidden gems in the heart of the Trossachs. We can all agree that no visit to Loch Katrine is complete without taking a sail on the water. Why not take your bike aboard the world-famous Steamship Sir Walter Scott or the more modern Lady of the Lake for a cruise? With the option to hop-off at Stronachlachar, enjoy a refreshment before cycling back along the shore to Trossachs Pier.

Wheels Cycling Centre
Situated in the popular, historic town of Callander, Wheels Cycling Centre offers a range of bikes for day and week hire. Cycle the wooded shorelines of Loch Venachar or Loch Lubnaig or kick things up a gear and traverse the rugged forest trails to Loch Katrine. With recommended routes of varying difficulty there is something for everyone.

E-Biking
Travel great distances with little effort! Rent and e-bike from one of the above shops and explore the local attractions and breath-taking views that Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park has to offer.

Fishing

Carbeth Fishery
Home to three ponds, Carbeth fishery offers a comprehensive trout fishing experience for beginners and more experienced anglers alike. There’s plenty to choose from. For example, why not enjoy a day of bait fishing in the smaller two-acre pond or opt for fly-fishing in the larger three-acre pond.

Visitors welcome. Rod hire and tackle shop available. Disabled access to both ponds.

Lake of Menteith Trout Fisheries
At over 700 acres, with three islands and panoramic views of Inchmahome Priory, Lake of Menteith is not only an excellent location for fly fishing for trout or pike but also an incredible day out for taking in the magnificent views of the Trossachs.

Golf

Aberfolye Golf Club
Located two miles from Gartmore House and nestled at the foot of the Menteith Hills, Aberfoyle Golf Club is a scenic 18-hole course suitable for low and high handicap players

Visitors are welcome on a pay and play basis. Club hire and buggy hire available.

Balfron Golf Society

Balfron Golf Society’s rural Stirlingshire location makes it an attractive 18-hole golf course for the complete beginner and seasoned professional.

Visitors are welcome on a pay and play basis.

Buchanan Castle Golf Club
Designed by renowned Scottish golfer and golf course architect James Braid, Buchanan Castle Golf Club is a challenging 18-hole course for amateurs and professionals alike. With its peaceful location on the banks of the River Endrick and views of the Scottish Highlands including Conic Hill, Buchanan Castle Golf Club is often considered a hidden gem.

An indoor and outdoor driving range and coaching from PGA professionals is also available.

Callander Golf Club
Positioned in the picturesque village of Callander with panoramic views of Loch Lomond and The National Park, Callander Golf Club is a charming 18-hole course offering an unforgettable experience.

Gleneagles
Home to three iconic courses, comprehensive practice facilities including a driving range, putting greens, short green pitching area and the PGA National Academy for Scotland, Gleneagles offers a golfing experience not to be missed.

As the only European venue to host of The Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup, a round of golf at Gleneagles is on every golfer’s bucket list. Welcoming amateurs and professionals alike, tee off on the classic Braid designed King’s Course, the beautifully landscaped Queens Course, or the contemporary PGA Centenary Course.

Visitors are welcome on a pay and play basis. Club hire, trolley hire and caddie services available.

Walking/Trekking

Situated in Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park we provide the perfect base for outdoor enthusiasts. Go off the beaten track and explore the gentle forest trails on our doorstep or for something more challenging venture further afield and scale one of Scotland’s 282 rugged Munros.
