NEW for 2021 – we are delighted to introduce our Upcycling Furniture holiday to Gartmore House.
With over 25 years’ experience in upcycling furniture, your tutor Elisabeth Viguié Culshaw will lead you on the path of turning your tired-but-loved pieces of furniture into timeless treasures. She will share her knowledge and techniques as well as practical skills in chalk paint and distressing, stencilling, guilding and découpage. During the course you will practise techniques on boards that you can take home, as well as apply to your upcycling project. You will learn how to understand paints, waxes and varnishes and prepare a piece from start to end.
Make sure to bring a small piece of furniture with you (such as a small table, chair or box), so you have the time to experience all the stages. Your holiday includes a starter pack of basic brushes and cloths; and all basic paints and varnishes will be supplied (for small projects). Your tutor Elisabeth will be in touch with you before the start of the course, to make sure you have all you need to achieve upcycling perfection!
Our upcycling holidays run for 5-nights and are priced at £725 per person.
The above is based on single occupancy of an en-suite room on a full board basis. A £100 per person discount is applied for shared occupancy.
