All holidays include 4 full days of tuition with our friendly, expert tutors, all your materials, accommodation, full-board catering, and complimentary transfers to and from Stirling train station* (*at set times).
Your home from home, Gartmore House has 23 en-suite bedrooms in the main house. All our rooms boast traditional Scottish styling with warm, contemporary tones and thoughtful touches that make this perfect place to lay your head. Relax and unwind in comfort.
Location & Transfers
Please follow the directions below if you plan to travel to Gartmore House by yourself.
Take the A81 from the city centre; travel via Milngavie and Strathblane towards Aberfoyle. Continue past the signs for Gartmore village and Gartmore House is well sign-posted on the left off the A81.
Travel towards Stirling on the M9 and leave the motorway at Junction 10. Follow the A84, signposted for Callander. After 4 miles take the A873 for Aberfoyle. After 17 miles, at the roundabout, take the first exit and stay on the A81. In less than a mile, the village of Gartmore is signposted on your right. Continue past the village entrance and Gartmore House is clearly sign-posted on your right along a private driveway.
The closest airports to Gartmore are Glasgow and Edinburgh, both approximately one hour’s drive away. See Edinburgh or Glasgow airport website for timetables, bookings and fares.
Stirling train station (Stirling is our closest city) is 18 miles from Gartmore House and has links to train stations in Glasgow (25-35 mins by train) or Edinburgh (40 mins by train). Milngavie train station is 16 miles from Gartmore House and has links to Glasgow (15 mins by train).
There are also direct rail links from London Kings Cross to Stirling and links to and from all major train stations.
IMPORTANT: If you are using a satnav you will be directed into Gartmore Estate via the village of Gartmore. The road accessing the estate is unsuitable for vehicles (signed ‘no vehicle access to Gartmore Estate’). Please follow the directions ABOVE to access the house from the A81 through the private drive.
Why not take the stress out of travelling and book a transfer straight to our door?
All our art, craft and activity holidays include a complimentary transfer to and from Stirling train station. The transfer will collect you from the station at 15:30 on the day of arrival (this applies to 2, 5 and 6-night holidays). On the day of departure, your transfer will collect you from Gartmore House at 10:00 (5 and 6-night holidays) or 16:00 (2-night holidays), returning to Stirling train station. Please allow 45 minutes for your transfer between Gartmore House and Stirling train station.
The closest airports to us are Glasgow and Edinburgh airports. If you require a transfer to and/or from either airport, please select this option at the time of booking. Transfers to/from Glasgow and Edinburgh airports are available at an additional cost.
After booking your flights, please update your Customer Portal with the time you wish to be collected from the airport on the day of arrival and the time of collection at Gartmore House, returning to the airport, on the day of departure. Please allow 60 minutes for your transfer between Gartmore House and Glasgow Airport, or 90 minutes for your transfer between Gartmore House and Edinburgh Airport.
Please note: We require a minimum of 1 week to arrange transfers to and from Glasgow and Edinburgh Airport and Stirling train station.

All art, craft and activity holiday guests and accompanying guests enjoy full board catering.
Every day our chef prepares hearty, wholesome meals and delicious home baking using locally sourced fresh produce wherever possible. Enjoy farm-to-table comfort food and a selection of Scottish favourites throughout your stay.
If you have any allergies or dietary requirements, let us know when you book. We are able to cater to a wide range of diets and do our very best to make sure that all your needs are met.
Gartmore House Menu
Breakfast comprises of a hot and cold buffet available from our servery. A range of cereals, fruit and yoghurts are available alongside cooked breakfast items.
Lunch includes the soup of the day and a main course.
In the evenings, enjoy a choice of meals from the servery accompanied by a selection of salads from the chef's table.
Our evening menu changes daily.

Wet your whistle with a drink from our well-stocked bar where you can find a range of craft beers, gin, spirits and local whiskies. With the likes of Glengoyne and Auchentoshan just a stone’s throw away from the house, we’re spoiled for choice when it comes to our drams!
Enjoy your drink with your evening meal or take it back upstairs. In the Public Lounge, settle in front of the roaring log fire and take in the breath-taking views across Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park towards Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Or, cosy up in one of the Oak Room’s armchairs and watch a bit of telly. It’s the perfect way to end the day.
